At the bustling intersection of Main and Olympic in downtown Walnut Creek, the southwest corner was revitalized from an outdated Washington Mutual bank into a high-end shopping destination. The high-profile corner became home to Talbots and Talbots Kids. Watry Design, Inc. was hired to incorporate parking on the roof of the building. The Talbots parking structure exemplifies Walnut Creek's progressive initiative to boost retail success by incorporating parking into its downtown .
Watry Design developed a parking design that provided the most stalls for such a tight site, while adhering to the most cost effective solution. Additionally, the project had structural challenges due to the rotunda design of the store's main entry. The Watry team effectively combined the structural system with parking and retail to create a cost effective project.
