In order to reclaim space for tennis courts lost to a need for increased parking, the Berkeley Unified School District elected to explore design of a parking structure with rooftop tennis courts. Watry Design was selected to develop concepts for the project and design bridging documents.
Watry Design worked with district stakeholders to develop programming that would serve both the District as well as public users. Ultimately a 3-level structure with 240 stalls and up to 4 rooftop tennis courts was selected.
The design also included bleachers, court lighting and public restrooms. Watry Design then prepared bridging documents for a design-build pursuit.
